42 is the National Game of Texas. it's amazing! and I love the endless variations - nello, punt, plunge, near 7's...

        I've always played Nel-O (or any lows, doubles hi/low or suit of own) + plunge/wobble + 7's...

Makes those 34/35 hands alot more fun, and tough to get...

As Paw Paw said, there's a low hand everytime!

I played a ton during my days in Aggieland as well. Funny story - I remember a game breaking out one night after a dove hunt near Welborn, and the two guys who lived there were partners. They were really kicking our tail until we figured out the secret. It invloved the clever use of reflection and the glass table we were playing on.

I'm in for a game sometime. My wife and I have play a few times a year with a few other couples but it's not often enough.

Man I miss 42. Used to play it all the time but I bet I haven't played in 5-6 years.

Play 42 at work everyday. If we are a man short we play cut-throat moon. On the holidays its a big family and friend event to get together a play.

I play religiously every other Wednesday night with some good ole boys. The boys play in the dining room and the hens do their yappin in the living room and take care of the youngins. We're all 30 or younger so don't think this is a dying game. My wife's family plays hardcore and some of my family plays also. Our kids will grow up playing and carry on the tradition.

When we go to track meets, we always set up camp and cook fajitas or brisket for our kids. We eat all day and play 42, moon and pitch washers. Track meets with the Bandera crew are lots of fun.

You ain't wrong about that. We used to have "Chicken Thursdays." Everyone meet at the Chicken after class for 42, cold Shiner, Death burgers and Tijuana fries. Good times. Have only played a few times since aTm. Would be fun to get some games going at Bownanza.

I love it just wish I could play more often. Since my grandpa cant hardly see anymore and quit hunting it has really affected my 42 playing. We only seem to play around the holidays anymore. Lots of good stories told around our 42 table.

Sutton, everyone beats Bush. That is no big deal. I love playing. 42 and cold beer is **** near a perfect night.
