My boss was recently admitted to the ICU with sodium readings under 100. He had been out of the country on vacation and didn't realize the severity of his condition until his partner forced him to get checked out. Doctors immediately knew there was a problem but were not sure what was going on. Masses in several vital areas and a significant loss of motor skills was soon discovered to be the result of stage 4 lung cancer. They started his chemo the day after he was diagnosed and his body seemed to be responding well initially. It now seems as though he may be taking a turn for the worse. We are told that sodium levels as low as he had will potentially take a serious toll on your neurological system. This seems to be the case for him. His speech, movement, and thought process have all begun to deteriorate in the past day. Doctors are trying to remain hopeful but it seems he may have developed some sort of degenerative neurological disorder. If this turns out to be the case his time with us could be very brief. His family has opted to keep the news relatively quiet so I will not mention his name. I could not however stay quiet after witnessing the strength of prayer that this board puts forth. We are a very small company and are all extremely close to him; this one hurts.This has come out of nowhere and we are in shock about the severity and suddenness of the situation. Please pray for his family and friends, positive news, and most of all comfort for him. Many thanks in advance.
