    is there a benefit

is there a benefit to having one of these over the other?
    1. Easton Axis 400 or
    2. maxima 350
I know the axis are a smaller diameter arrow but I know this sounds dumb but I like the look of the maximas.

Don't know becasue I have never shot either. the only shafts i have shot with any consistency have been the ACC's and Gold Tip XT Hunters. Tried Victory and the super lite Speed Pros with no luck from either. ACC's were by far the best, but expensive. Either shaft you mentioned are quality shafts so go with whatever you want to spend and what you like.

I am concerned ater some of the talk about the axis being small in diameter and naking me change how my bow is set up now.

Have you shot both? Which one shoots better?

It won't matter what arrow you shoot or diameter you shoot, each different style, diameter/spined arrow will have to be tuned to your set up.

Which one do you like? Both are good shafts, and I have shot most out there!! I used the Axis last 3 yrs and I wasn't going to switch until I find something better. I came close to using the GT XT shafts but I am now going with the AMG Smart Shaft. I think the insert in the axis is by far the best for the novice, cutting and installing his/her own inserts. The tip has to align with the shaft, no other way, of course there are those..... Bottom line, pick the one you want and set your bow to shoot them.

I believe the spine is different on those arrows. That could influence which ones would work better for your set up.

I shoot the Easton Axis 400's. Why, because someone told me they were good! Shot 2turkeys, 1 hog and 1 deer with them. They worked fine.
