Well the fog rolled in thick so we decided to call it a night and try again tomorrow. We got there at 4:45 and only had one hang on in the tree so I hauled butt up the tree and hung another hang on on the opposite side of the tree. Both stands were facing a wheat field and the feeder with soured corn under it was to our south. The wind was blowing from the south and the hogs generally come from that direction so I was pretty hopeful we woud get at least one. I had the stand hung and the truck parked and we slipped back in about 5:45 Haley sat in the stand facing to the southeast and my stand was facing the Northwest. We had an ungodly amount of deer come in to the wheat fields the whole time we sat there. We were watching a buck at the feeder with my night vision when all of a sudden he disappeared. Shortly a hog came in from the southwest headed toward the feeder. He started a circle that brought him right around in front of me but when I tried to draw my bow would scrape a limb. I needed him to take 2 more steps to my left and I would have a perfect shot but instead he circled back the way he had come. We sat there watching him when all of a sudden a bigger hog came charging in and ran the first one off. Well he started a slow circle toward me but stopped on the off side of some brush. I saw the first hog coming back and was watching him when Haley whispered that there was a hog right in front of me. She couldnt get a clear shot at him but I had a clear shooting lane so I came to full draw and pushed the button on my Marauder and saw a pretty good boar standing quartering to me so I settled my 20 yard pin on the point of his shoulder and squeezed the release trigger and heard the smack of the Slick Trick tipped arrow hitting him hard. He ran maybe 25 yards then piled up. My battery on my phone was about dead so I had to wait til now to post it.
