    Muzzy 100g Problem

I shot a doe and a spike this year with both arrows passing through. When i retrieved the arrows 2 out of the 3 blades were jagged and were unusable. Does anyone else have this problem with Muzzys?

I haven't yet... As long as the blades were still in the broadhead I would think that it did it's job. Replacement blades are available. I don't know if I will ever leave Muzzy myself.

Can you tell if it hit bone?

yup, Every Muzzy I have shot the blades came out jagged. They are very thin blades and are replaceable. Also, I have never lost an animal with muzzy's.

No bone hit on either deer. I've never had that happen before so maybe i bought a "lemon pack"??? I have no clue, but i'm going to keep giving them a shot!

I've lost one animal, but that was not the Muzzy's fault....I think they call it an operator error Good news is i can get another shot at him next year, b/c he lived.

If you found both deer dead where is the problem? I shot Muzzy's for years. Anytime I shot an animal I replaced the blades. They are pretty inexpensive.

If the blades were jagged, they hit something ... either a bone in the deer or a rock upon exit.

IMO, broadheads and arrows are the expendable part of your archery tackle.
When I launch one, at an animal, I consider it gone.
If the broadhead, arrow, both or any part of the two, is reuseable, it's just a bonus.

That really shouldn't be a concern as long as the point did it's job. Replacement blades will fix that problem right up and you're good to go on the next one.

I killed my first with a muzzy 100 gr. this year (pics in progress) and not only did it do the trick, but the the actual broadhead broke off and threads from the broadhead were still inside. I had a hard shoulder shot that dropped him immediately (a little forward in the shoulder blade) The arrow only penetrated about six to eight inches and got tossed but the muzzy never got recovered. I know it hit bone and was somewhere in that shoulder but wasn't brave enough to retrieve it..lol Muzzy "Bad to the Bone!!"

X2 Just change out the blades and move on, no biggy.

The big problem I had with muzzy's was bent ferrules spin test them if they wobble trash em they won't fly right.

Ever hear the term, "strong as aluminum"!? Make sure the bh will spin true after every shot. I switched to Slick Tricks for that reason. The blades are replacable, but if the ferrule is bent, as someone said trash it.

Jagged or not, I replace the blades everytime anyway. Love me some Muzzys!
