    Fletching Jigs.....

I have a Jo Jan straight fletcher but can not get the fletching to glue on perfectly flat. One side of the fletching is always slightly off of the shaft.
    I am using Blazer Vanes....

Suggestions on how to get them to glue on flat or a better jig suggestion?

I have the same jig and have never had this problem. Just make sure the nock is centered in the "V" in the base and that the other "V" that the arrow sits on is centered correctly.

How far towards the back of the jig do you place your fleching?

I place mine right on the bottom end of the clamp. It gives a good reference point to keep the vanes in line with one another, and places them about 3/8" or so from the end of the arrow.
