Death By.....Pushups! (And Then Death By Pullups/Situps)

So, another fun-filled night at the Alamo CrossFit box yesterday. I didn't go Monday evening so that the wife could (my kids+having to wait at the gym+lots of stuff they can get a hold of=Trouble Inc.), Tuesday and Wednesday found me late at the office wrapping up a project so Thursday was the day to get back to it and torture my body yet again.

Looked at the board when I walked in and instantly thought, "Well, this is going to be fun".

    Tonight's menu looked like this:

Calisthenics (30 seconds each x2 rounds except as noted):
    Jumping Jacks
    Shuffle Splits
    20 Slamballs
    30 seconds bottom pushup hold x 3
    Stretching

    Warmup:
Jumping Squats w/45# bar for 1 minute (My count=32)

    WOD:
    "Death By Pushups"
Using a running clock, perform 2 pushups the first minute, 4 the second minute, 6 the third minute, etc, etc, etc until failure to complete pushups within the alloted minute.

Then, with no rest after failure in the pushups, transition to...

    "Death By Pullups/Situps"
Using the same running clock, perform 1 pullup and 1 situp the first minute, 2 pullups and 2 situps the second minute, lather, rinse and repeat. Count total rounds completed successfully.

The ugly truth: I completed nine rounds on the pushups (Which equals to 90 pushups total) and nine rounds on the pullups/situps (Which equals to 45 pullups and 45 situps).

Total of 18 rounds completed as prescribed.

    Looks like fun, no?

That doesn't sound fun. You should probably finishing cutting the sleeves off of that shirt though. Better ventilation

Keep it up! I started Cage Fitness last week and my abs are so sore I can barely stand up straight. No pain no gain as they say.

Nah, I leave those like that so when we run it provides extra drag (kinda like you see those football players running with a small parachute strapped to them) and makes me work harder.

              Yea....that's it.
