    Houston Marathon...Ready, Set, Go!!!

Any other TBHers running the Houston Marathon on Sunday? This year, I will be running the race for a charity (The Houston Food Bank) and have collected over $500 in pledges so far from family and friends! Since the recovery/training time between the New York Marathon & Houston Marathon was so short (about 7 weeks)...I decided to sign up for the "Hero...Run For A Reason" program this year. It looks like mother nature will deal us a decent hand of weather Sunday morning so I'm looking forward to the 26.2 mile trek through H-Town .

If any of you will be down there on Sun. morning, PM me and we can try to hook up. (Last year, I met Bearintx at the early morning church service.).

    Goof luck and run strong,

    Tim

    best to you Kamoman

I know you don't take your abilities for granted, but after breaking my leg a couple years back I'm FINALLY getting back to where I can run short distances without much ankle swelling. Still, I doubt I ever do a marathon again so I'll just live vicariously through you for now. Have a great run!

Would have loved to be there Sunday Tim, looks like the weather is going to be much more conducive to fast times than San Antonio was in November. Do you have a link to the site where we can track your progress?

              Here's to a great run!

/You chasing a Boston time on this one, or did you already qualify?

Work and grad school kept me way too busy to properly train this year. However, the family and I will be there cheering on my SIL and BIL. We usually hang out in West U early, then migrate to Memorial Park, then on to the finish line.

Hope to see you out there. What time are your shooting for?

                Have a great race!

Am I shooting for a qualifying time??? Heck no...This one's for fun!

I spent most of November & December doing what I really wanted to do...Hunting! I trained really hard for NYC during the brutal Houston heat and was "burned -out" after the race. I've also been dealing with some tendonitis issues too. I plan to just treat this race as a nice, easy training run around the city. I'll see how I'm feeling at the 1/2 way mark and just roll the dice after that. As for time...I hope to be in the 4hr - 4:15 "ish" timeframe.

You can go to the Houston Marathon website and I think there is a section to track runners by race/bib number. Mine is #623

Casper...That would be great...but I probably wont be looking good at the finish )! Here's a pic from last year's race at around mile #24.

Thanks for what you Cheer Group guys do. trust me, as a runner, every little encouragement helps...especially late in the race.

                            Good Luck

Just got back from picking up my packet.

This will be my first marathon. I did far more hunting than expected this year and my training suffered, so my goal is to just finish this one without walking. With temps in the low 40s at the start I will be wearing my TBH beanie.

                            Good luck to everyone.
