    question about leon county

    does anyone here hunt in leon county, particularly in Jewett. hows deer density and doe/buck ratio?

    Lot's of doe. Some nice buck's in the bottoms. Dont hunt in Jewett though.

      It's great on my place, 2:1 buck to doe. Of course it's high fenced and heavily managed. Everywhere else it's about 20:1 Doe to buck

        hunt outside of Buffalo. There are a lot of does!!! I'll get pics of the occasional P and Y but they are rarely sighted in day light. Big trophy potential in my opinion and I think the antler restrictions have really helped. Great place to hunt since it is close to home for me and I almost always see animals

          Been hunting in Leona my entire life. Always lots of deer. Horrible ratio though. There are nice bucks to be had, but you have to hunt hard. The restrictions have really helped the number of bucks I've seen. One to Two more years and we will have a few Dandy Bucks around up there.

            Depends on how big a place your hunting and how big your neighbors places are.

            You are going to have a hard time if your amongst a bunch of 20-40 acre plots, but we have some excellent hunting in Leon county.
