Last may I bought a place down at Port O'Connor. I hear the duck hunting down that way is pretty good. I have never duck hunted but would like to give it a try. Does anyone have any info on the duck hunting around POC?

Duck hunting is addictive. I sat around a campfire at a national wildlife refuge Sat night with a CA guy who owns an HVAC business in a rural area. Monday he sends the guys out, Tuesday he checks up to see that everything is OK for the week. Wed-Sunday he camps at the refuge, living out of a trailer and hunting ducks. Must eat what he shoots since the posession limit is 2x the daily limit. And by the way, he has a 4 and a 2 year old at home with Momma.

      That's addictive behavior.

I took my 10 yr old nephew for the youth only hunt last weekend. It was his first time, we went out on a public land. Anyway, 1 1/2 boxes of shells later and having the dekes "buzzed" by 200 plus ducks, he finally limited out! We were picking up the dekes by 9:00 am. He filled w/ widgeon, mallard and teal.
He was so fired up, he wanted to go back Sunday...and we did! This time he finished with Mallards, pintail, and gadwalls. I think he's hooked!! Lol.

I'll be chasin' deer, but during the middle of the day, the tanks get a lot of attention put on their ducks. Limits some times take 10 minutes. They can be really dumb on deer lease tanks.

I'm hunting bucks till we get that first true blue norther that will blow in about 5am. Thats when I start feeling ducky. I could almost park a truck in my garage, if it wasn't for the 12 doz. dekes in the dang way!

I just went in halves with my dad on a place down in Rockport. Nothing much, just a lot where we're gonna move a trailer. I'm really looking forward ot doing some hunting. However, I told my wife I now have to buy a boat!

I was going to pass on the opener until that front blew into N. Texas yesterday. Feeling almost ducky now! So now I'm getting the itch.
Still not sure if there will be any birds though. Just haven't seen a lot of them south of the metroplex.
