I use 31/2 #4 in both heavy shot and black cloud and have no problems dropping birds

T shot in the heavy metal (non lead that the pellets weight more than lead) are called "Dead Coyote". You can stone geese at ridiculous distances if you're a good shot.

3 inch 2s for ducks. 3.5 inch BBs for geese. Kicks High Flyer choke in modified for both is what I use.

Even 3 1/2" T's don't have enough pellets to make a solid pattern. I have much better luck on long range geese using BB's or triple B's

Got some 2s ans 4s going to run them through a modified choke in the old 870 and see what happens. Tomorrow we are getting up to go see where there flying, hopefully Thursday I can nock a few down.

2's,3's or 4's with a mosdified choke will get the job done.

That combo should work well. I use 2&4 shot with a light modified. It works well for longer shots and still gives you a good pattern for in your face action

I generally shoot #2 if teal are flying, BB the rest of the day. Not having a dog, I want to have a clean kill or a clean miss. I hate winging a bird and not recovering it.

                      Good luck!

I don't know what geese y'all are shooting, but for the Larger canadians, steel T's are stone cold goose killers (no way I'd use them for ducks - they could fly zig zags thru the pattern). If I were shootin snows, I'd be happy with #2-BB size. 3's ideal for ducks in steel IMO. If you are shooting heavy shot, you can generally go down in size a fair amount. I've shot plenty of ducks with #6 heavy shot (this is actually my turkey load too), and geese with #2 heavy

I'll be takin 3" number 3&4s for early woodies and then switching to 3" #1s for when the bigger ducks start, but I'm shootin full choke...cause thats all I got at the moment...I may have to steal Johnsonzl's modified...lol...better watch out Zach

BB or #2 Steel out of a modified choke is my recommendation. I don't know about the chrome lining.
