I shoot 22-250 in a 55 gr Hornady VMax and love that load. extremely accurate and packs a punch when it hits. 90% of the time Ill shoot a yote in the chest and the bullet doesnt exit. perfect for pelts. I have killed a 312lb hog with that load as well.

Yeah it depends on the situation, for prarie dogs I like the .17, it's just a fun little gun. For larger varments I like the 22 hornet, but they are getting harder to come by.
