    how is this possible??

I found this place while searching for deer leases. The guy claims you don't have to use ANY of your personal tags at all. I have heard this is true for does on mld property but they claim that you don't have to tag bucks either. here is the link so you can see for yourself...

I was on a place several years ago with MLD doe permits. It clearly states on the MLD permit that you do not have to tag the carcass with a tag from your hunting license--the MLD tag is the correct piece of paper.

You don't have to use personal tags on bucks for MLD either. The MLD tag is used in place of the tags off your license.

Ranches that are on level 2 MLD have tags for does and certain bucks....level 3 MLD gives you tags for all deer.

LAMPS for does and MLD (depending on the level) for bucks and does work off the permits and you don't have to use the tags on your license. But you do have to "tag" the deer with the permit.

I understand about the doe tags under mld. This claims that you can take a trophy under the tags and ALL the cull bucks you can shoot (unlimited). I don't see how that is possible

Wow. Reading thru the ad it almost sounds too good to be true. I would wonder how many acres it is and how many hunters are on it every year. It said they killed 34 deer opening weekend last year??? That's a lot of deer. It would be hard for me to imagine a place that is so overrun with deer that they can take that many. And something about "unlimited spikes and culls"? Let us know what you find out.

It is very possible. It is level 2 and 3 MLD... The state biologist will issue the ranch a certain number of buck and does permits based on the deer population. If a deer is harvested on that ranch, you HAVE to use one of the issued permits. It is illegal to tag a deer on a ranch in the MLD program with a tag from your license...

If he is MLD III and has the tags you can soot as many as he will allow you to shoot and have tags for.... Your tags are not legal on a MLD ranch. Only the ones given to the ranch by the state can be used... Also after you shoot your deer on that ranch you can go to another and do it all over again if you got the cash.. Your personal tags can still be used on non MLD ranches... Crazy isn't it... We got in big trouble for not shooting our does one year and about 5 of use had to shoot 5 to 8 each to catch up....

34 deer in one weekend is not alot. Some of the larger ranches in the MLD program kill that many deer or more on a regular basis. We killed 42 this past weekend.

just depends how big the place is.... I called about a lease in east texas last week that was 18,000 acres under MLD. shooting 34 deer of 18 thousand acres is a drop in the bucket if your numbers are in check.

Well it is.....MLD level III properties have tags for all deer....bucks, trophies or culls, and does.....although the tags do not distinguish between trophies or culls...

Plus if they need 70 does killed and 30 bucks per the MLD biologists you could kill all 100 deer by yourself.....without touching your license.

My Dad's place in Bracketville, had a quota of 77 does and 52 bucks the second year.....the old timers didn't want to shoot anything but their one trophy the ranch allowed and maybe a decent management 8....so they brought in several of us to whack and stack to meet their quota....it was ugly...
