    Surge Protector

Bought a new desktop computer yesterday. I need to get a good surge protector but I am kinda lost. All the protection is listed in joules. What is the minumum I should get? When we got our tv, I just bought the best one they had at whatever store I was at. Any advice or recomendations are greatly appreciated.

Instead of a surge protector I'd recommend an uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS). UPS is a form of battery backup and surge protector combined. In the event of a power outage, spike or surge your computer won't even blink.

American Power Conversion (APC) makes a decent one as does Minuteman.

BTW: Do not plug your printer into the UPS.

I run a power blocker 2 cant remember the joules but it was the biggest store had, after spending that much dough on a 62 in I dont want problems. I figured surge protection was cheaper then another tv
