    Anyone own a Hi-Point Pistol?

How is it? Fire every time?

    HI Point!

I have one in 9.mm and it is ok but on occasion a shell will get stuck I thought it might be the clip but wasnt sure do you have one and does this happen to yours also?

Had the 45. Fired about 500-600 rounds, got bored with it and sold it. Was a large frame gun and really easy to handle. People at the range laughed at my gangster gun but they did not laugh at my targets. Never had a jamb even with cheap ammo. Don't let gun brand snobs talk you out of it because of the price. Heck, for that price try one out. What do you have to lose?

              ^^^

For under the truck seat and tracking shot hogs...

Don't need one that COULD misfire or jam...

I thought it may be to good to be true...

It would make a fine gun for hogs. Find somebody that has one and try it out. You'll get much different reviews from owners than from people who scoff at the price but have probably never even fired one.

Heck no, its no Glock but you know that already. It is what it is.

I've got one in .45ACP. Its big, ugly, and heavy, but it fires every time you pull the trigger and shoots decenly for a cheap gun. I keep it in the truck just in case I need it. My Taurus .40 stays behind my belt...where the hi point .45 would never fit. If go unarmed before I tried to conceal the hi point.

For any kind of personal defense, no way would I carry it. For a gun to throw in the truck, under teh seat and not worry about it then I would.

I do hear the little carbine rifle is pretty nice though.

my dad has a 9mm idk how many shots he has through it but hes never had any problems out of it.... just because something is cheaper in price doesnt mean it wont perform like more expensive guns its like comparing a browning shotgun and mossberg yeah the mossberg is cheap but it does what its supposed to without fail just like the browning now the mossberg may not be as smooth or as pretty but it will still shoot good and serve the same purpose.......just my 2 cents

I'd only listen to opinions from folks who have personal experience with them.

Yes, they are heavy. Yes, they don't have a very good trigger. No, I personally wouldn't carry one for self defense (but not because of unreliablity). They're just too heavy and bulky for my idea of concealment.

I had a 9mm that went bang every time I pulled the trigger. I have had much more expensive pistols that weren't nearly as reliable though. They're cheap, and tough, and I can't think of a better choice to pitch in the glove box of a pickup.
Add to that the fact that they're 100% American made (Ohio). Quite a few of the other popular pistols are made overseas (Glock, Springfield Armory, CZ). And I'm told that Hi Point has an excellent customer service department.

By the way, I sold mine. Like most of the firearms I've sold, I wish I had it back. Of course, If I want to buy one now it'll cost a little more than the 125.00 I paid for the first one. Maybe I'll take my own advice and pick up another one.

Just so you know, Glock pistols are manufactured in Smyra, GA. At least the ones sold in the states are.
