went out again this morning. Let me set the scene. Truck said it was 11 degrees. I've been trying some new tactics in some spots where I know there are coyotes but haven't been successful of late. I have been using coyote vocals instead of starting with the normal rodent distress. It works!
I was set up before shooting light(and freezing). I don't like calling before I have shooting light. I was facing east so I had a small window before sun was up and in my face. I started with a female invite and had 4-5 yotes answer immediately. Waited 2 mins and went with a male challenge, no reply. One more of each then the snowshoe hair. It was on! Had four coming at me from my right. Video shows this all happened in about a minute. Dropped the first one at 40yds and immediately started looking for secondary targets. Vid only shows 3, #4 flew the coupe in a hurry. It looks like i coulda/shoulda dropped the 2nd one but I was fighting my bipod trying to get on him while he's locked on me. He was coming back so I held. He decided something was up and exited the way he came. Vid is poor but fun and funny to watch.
