Headed to Lubbock Monday for two days off goose hunting. After way to many stops we got into town around 10pm. Found to hotal and checked in. Needed a few things at Walmart and after going to 3 of something like 30 they have in Lubbock we were headed back to get some sleep. Up at 5 and met up with the guides at 6, by daylight we were in a cut milo field south of town. Fog was so think it made it hard to breath, but in short time we had the decoys out.
This is a pic of the decoy trailer from abut 10ft away yuo can see the fog.

By day light the fog had lifted to bluebird skys and no wind. We worked a few groups and killed a few out of all of them. Then the fog came back. I have never seen fog roll in in the daylight so that was pretty cool. At this point we needed 5 to finish up.
Heres the fog rolling in.

Had a group come over calling and our guides called back them, when they came throught they fog they were less than 30 yards. Got our 5 and started picking up.

We ended up 2 short of our limits due to 2 that sailed off to the end of the field that we counted, then couldnt find.
After lunch we headed out for a pigeon shoot. We sat out 10 dz decoys and 10 mojo doves. Only killed 6 in about an hour, but had a blast. Come to find out the best shooting time is from 10-3pm we didnt get to the field till 3:30.
Here's what a pigeon spread looks like....lol

Tired, cold, and most of our party sick, we headed back to get som sleep before the next mornings hunt.
Next moring we started it all over again at 5am. This time we had our wind and more bluebird skies.
Setting the spread.

Worked birds all morning long. Had a group of 6 greaters work but jetted out and landed behind us at 200 yards. After the next volly, they got up and headed right for us. we dropped 4 and was done. Ended one short and again that was one that fell way out and we never could find.

It was a great trip, if your looking for a great goose hunt, check out Brian at Blackfoot guide service. We will be back next year, think it will be 4-5 days next time.
