I've been looking at the buck blaster laser?, I think thats the name. Anyhow, I am wanting to order one for chasing pigs and varmints at night. From the looks of the video on the website, they work very well.
I did not know that. But I was thinking about using one for hogs at night.
It sure gets tough seeing through the peep and the sights and then the hog in the dark.
My understanding is... if you have your bow sighted in with the laser at the proper yardage all you would need to do is fling the arrow when the laser is on target. No peep or sight needed.
Sounds like a great advantage over my current setup.
By the way I guess it is spelled LASER not LAZER as in my post.
I used one on hogs down in Webb Co. It was used in conjunction with a red lensed mini mag light mounted on my stabalizer. Both were equiped with pressure switches.
I did shoot some hogs with this combo including a boar in the 100 lb range, but had enough spook that I never tried it again. Some of the sows would tolerate as would the youngins, but most of the older hogs wanted no part of it.
This was my personal experience, but you might have different reactions then I did.
I use the hawg light sniper. and haven't had any problems with the hogs spooking. Mainly because I have a flash camera at the feeder they frequent and I flash the hog light to emulate the camera a few times before I pick out a hog. It has worked so far.
I wouldn't think a Laser would spook them since they would only see the spot it is projecting on. But I haven't tried it yet. It seems like it would work great if you had it sighted in for the distance to your feeder.
One thing I'll say is you have pin point accuracy once it is sighted in.
At the time, I was able to leave my pin sight for day time hunting on javies. It was a nice set up, I just wish the hogs would have liked it as much as me!

I'm not saying to not try it, your results could be different. We hunted ten nights with three of us using lasers. All three had the same reports back at camp though. Like I said we Did kill hogs with them.
When you make a long drive like we did for a hunt, it was better for us to try a different set up after that.
