I shoot a 63lbs BowTech and have not problem with getting pass throughs on any animals. If you are interested in looking at other bow shops, there is a good one on Lake Fork. Have fun......

Firefighter, I've been to Africa twice on bowhunts. I shoot 70lbs with Easton FMJ arrows and 100 grain bh's. With the exception of buffalo and a few other critters, I feel very confident of taking just about any animal over there.
Shot placement is key, and the handful of PH's I've met, hunted with and discussed this very topic with, all say the same thing-speed is overated, their priorities
1.shot placement 2. sufficient arrow for kinetic energy 3. speed
Make sure your bow shop guys have been to Africa or outfitted someone who has, then talk to them.
The Safari show is here in DFW this weekend, there are alot of great bowhunting only African outfitters there, ask them. Most will give you an honest answer because if their client can shoot well and has the right gear the client will have a great hunt = more tip money and the higher possibility of repeat business. ALOT of the PH's work for tips only, and they bust their chops for you.
