Bow setup questions

I have been shooting off and on for a few years now, I re-served my bow and adjusted my peep upward about an 1 to 1 1/2 in. I put my knock sets on 1/8 in knock high as usual, went out to get sighted back in and at ten yards with my 10 pin I shoot clear over my target. I was hitting the target at 70 with my 30 pin. Bow square confirms that I am knock high everything is pretty close to exact except the peep sight.

Do you think I should raise my knock set a little higher to get more down ward angle on the arrow. I just dont know why it would be so far off! any ideas?????

Your pins are off because you raised the peep sight. If you raise the peep sight your arrows will shoot higher, if you lower your peep sight they will shoot lower. If your peep is set comfortably, and the arrows are shooting straight with the nocking point where it is, leave everything where it is and resight your pins.

I will have to get a pic up tonight, it just seems like my pins will almost be up by my limb pockets. Just seems abnormally high to me.

Where is your new anchor point causing you to move the peep sight so much? If you did not change where you anchor at full draw, all things being equal your peep should not have moved that much.

That is a LOT to move your peep. Ther is not 1 1/2" difference between my peep and my 11 year olds.

Check your nocking point by shooting thru paper at 6' to see if it is where it should be and not too high or low on the string.

Bill:::: I have always put my right pointer finger third knuckles, right underneath my ear...as alwyas.

bboswell::: When I started shooting, I purchased the "bass pro special" pre-set everything, they just adjusted for my draw length. I learned to shoot with head leaned over to see through the peep. My neck startd bothering me so I decided to get a more natural shooting position. Now my pins are really high up.

I am sure that as long as they don't get in the way there is probably no harm, just seems so D*** high to me!?!?!?!?!?

take you and your bow to a good shop, and they can fix it in about 4 minutes.

what is the distance from your nock to the hole in your peep

dropped my bow in the woods last week and the peep slid a half inch or so i missed an axis spike and i couldnt figure out why i was shooting so high when i figured it out i adjusted the peep to the most comfortable position ever and now my groups are tighter then they've ever been. . .

the peep sight position is crucial when it comes to accuracy

close your eyes, draw and anchor in a comfortable & repeatable position, now open your eyes. If you can not see perfectly through your peep WITHOUT moving your head then move your peep.

bboswell::::: that is exactly the process I used to reset my peep. Guess I will just have to take it to a shop and see if somethins wrong.

az2tx::::: I will take a measurement when I get home, is there a certain range that it needs to stay within.
