Did he ever admit it WAS NOT A DOUBLE LUNG SHOT?

    Comment

I just saw another show of his this afternoon. They were hunting in Kansas and he "double lunged" another one. Where I come from we call it a gutshot or centerpunch. They waited 30 minutes and then started tracking. The "double lunged" deer was still alive and they jumped him. The deer was recovered the next morning.

Lot of self-righteous babble in here. I love the show. I'm a hog hunter through and through - this is right up my alley - pretty funny to boot. My huntin' buddy is friends with him - says he's a riot - a great guy.

Some of you sure know how to drive people away. Too many holes in the 4 pages of posts I read to be so condemning. As for me, I'm DVR'ing the show. Bout time Dish got SMC. My .02.

Keith and I don't "know" each other per say but have a back ground of sorts. I didn't "agree" with certain parts of the show (as if I matter) but I talked with Keith and Brian and now you could say we are on the same page (again as if my opinion matters). They took the time to talk with me and I don't remember any other hunting TV host doing that before. Heck I've been here for 3-4 years and I don't recall any host even posting on here. Little less taking the time to explain and talk to TBH. I commend him for trying to be part of the best hunting forum TEXAS has to offer even after all this kinda stuff. He's more patient that I!
While some of the stuff you guys say is true. Like the double lunging and all. You guys forget these fellas are hunters and human and friends. I made a **** poor shot last season and I'm betting some of you guys did too. Do y'all really expect them to show every little thing that happens on all their hunts and explain everything that happened and why it happened? I mean really...? IT'S NOT A 5 HOUR SHOW! Forget about how good of a hunter you are and put yourself in their shoes for a minute. Would you have dragged out a whole show about a bad shot? Ok, we can agree maybe he shoulda went about it different but ya live and learn and I'm bettin the show gets "better". Would you tell/show every little thing that you and your HUNTING BUDDY'S did on your hunts?
There is a reason this ol boy has a show and "we" don't. It ain't cause he's better lookin either. muhahaha

Keith, remember what I told you. There's a reason Nuge, Waddell and most others don't frequent forums. You just can't make every body happy and you put yourself out there for this kinda stuff.

          Hope ya stick around anyway...

Thanks Cuz, I appreciate the post! No we are not perfect and never will be. Yes he needs to admit when a bad shot is made and that has been adressed after the first thread by Skeeter. I shouldn't have let this bother me so bad but It was a old wound that had been addressed and then convienently re-open for no reason but to cast a shadow and bash the Pigman. We are working hard to have a better show that people want to watch, but just like any other endevor you make miststakes and try and learn from them. Having a camera follow your every hunting more is not as fun and easy as everyone might think. Thanks for the support and we look forward to meeting you soon.

You're in the fishbowl, Kieth.. and unfortunately some feel the need to throw rocks in it when given the chance - sadly for no other reason than to assume everyone cares what their opinion is on a given subject, and to beat a dead horse to death.
I apologize for them, not everyone on the green screen carries such an attitude towards others, and this was the first time I've actually seen it surface on this site.

Keep doing what your doing, and don't let this keep you from frequenting this site.

I have hunted my whole life and hope that others see me as an ethical hunter. That being said I have on more than one occasion taken a shot that I thought was good only to have it turn out to be less than par. It appears some on the GS have never had that happen. Yes I understand that it is on TV so you have more to answer for but good grief give the guys a break.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I hate to drag this out, but I think it is worth pointing out that some people take 90%+ of their shots at animals standing broadside at a feeder, less than 20 yards away, so they don't understand why you just can't wait for him to "turn just a little". They just don't get it, so they can say things like, "I have NEVER taken a marginal shot", not everyone has sat for 40+ hrs without seeing a single animal, and then had to be forced to deal with the choice in a breif 15 second window that an animal enters and leaves your life; Do I take this marginal shot, or risk not getting another all year? I know I am forced with that choice EVERY year, and have a pretty good track record of success, but I know how things can turn sour quick, doesn't mean that a man did not have the best of intentions. BTW. I am NOT directing this at anyone in particular (just maybe those that NEVER take marginal shots), just sayin'!

Fling away Pig Man!!!! BTW, Never watched the show and prolly never will!

Just watched the Mex and Kansas show. pretty good footage. Show was intertaining. I did pick up a bit of the "look at me" attitude from the Pigman, but Different people have different personalities. Be interesting to see the rest of the shows to see if he backs off that a bit and let the hunting take center stage.

I have taken shots that ended up less than perfect. anyone who has killed alot of animals is going to have it happen. With that being said, He did not double lung that deer. No where close to double lunging him. I know in the tree, he has emotions going and thought it went where he thought he saw it so I understand that comment. But the next morning, after they probably watched the footage at camp 100xs, he should have backed off that perfect shot comments a bit. A simple, "after watching the footage at camp, the shot was a little further back than first thought" would have fixed it for me as a viewer of his show. I have it set to record, so I look forward to seeing the show grow.

I like the show. There are some things that are a little much but that is just pigman's personality I guess. I do think it is funny when they make fun of eachother for missing a shot or whatever. My only feedback would be a little more emphasis on hunting footage and less on driving the four wheeler to the store or the hunting cabin being dirty...etc. I think it is very cool that the guys behind the show are here posting and defending their product. There will always be haters man, can't never please everyone.

I've seen the show. It's not the worst out there. They are just getting started. We all should give them a little time to find what works for them.
