I think in the internet age, Missouri had it right with their old nickname, the "Show Me!" state.

I don't think I believe anything on a web page or email until I see some other proof. Whether it is a poor mountain lion that was killed in 35 states (so much for only 9 lives), a five pound bass that is held at the fingertips of an outstretched arm to look like it is 40 inches long and 20 pounds or a 6,000 pound hog killed with a slingshot.

i have lived in beaumont all most my entire 50 years and i have seen some big gators around the area, for those that don't know there is a lot of swamp land in the area and plenty of rivers sloughs and creeks and i have no doubt that there are gators that big ive seen one i know was bigger, a lot bigger,, whether the pics are real or not i don't know but i wouldn't call it a lie without some evidence... i dont know if it was even taken in the area but it is a big one wherever it came from

                Plastic cart gives it away...

We have those same plastic carts at work and there's no way 1000 lbs wouldn't crush it... Big gator yes, 1000 lbs nope.... Jason Slocum

It is a big one alright.

This little fellow was 9' 11" and weighed 223 lbs. The additional length would add several pounds but I don't know about a 1000 lbs.
