    Javelinas and Hogs

I've been hunting family land all my life, so I know the property pretty well. My dad, brother and I notice that when javelinas are showing up at the feeder, hogs are no where to be found. Not even ruts or signs of hogs. When hogs are showing up at the feeder, javelinas are no where to be found. Anybody else notice this on their places? It goes in cycles every couple years. We'll see nothing but javelinas for 3 or 4 years, then nothing but pigs the next 3 or 4 years. We haven't seen ONE hog this year. I know many of you consider that lucky but if I had to pick between pigs or javelinas, I'd take pigs. At least you can eat those! Not sure if pigs and javelinas don't do so well living in the same territory, so I figured I'd ask the guru's! Anybody know?

We used to have a few stink pigs until last year when the hogs showed up for the first time(Sonora)

I have javelinas and pigs sharing the same feeder. The javelinas come in the middle of the day and at night and the hogs come when the feeder goes off in the afternoon.

We found 4 javelinas last week that were bedding down under one of our old sheds right next to where we always park. Only way we found out was my buddy missed a javi at the feeder but the broadhead managed to cut its foot off, and we were able to track it back to the shed. We knew something was up though, we could smell them when we got out of the truck that morning.

cosmiccowboy, thats a nice mess of pigs! Wish I could see a picture like that show up on our cameras!
