    Rage failure,kinda

I shot a buck this past saturday with a rage two blade that I had shot a turkey with the week before and resharpened. when I climbed down from the tripod to pick up my arrow I noticed that 1 of the blades was missing and the roll pin was half way out. I did find the blade laying on the ground, I am not sure how all this took place but I will be checking the pins on the rest of my BH's thats for sure. good luck

I like it when they work, but I am not a fan of RAGE broadheads anymore as they are too maintenance intensive.

just another reason that no matter what head I am shooting.......... one kill and it is retired.

Did you by chance take the head apart when you sharpened the blades?

        What happened to the buck?

After I shoot a deer with one, it gets sharpened and becomes a pig arrow. Just not worth taking a chance.

he went back to camp with me. he went about 80 yards double lunged. the exit wound which is the side shown in the picture, was not quite as big as the entry hole but none the less the rage did its job again. and no I didn't take it apart when I sharpend it.

I love me some rage!! 4 deer with the same head. No problems to date but only take double lung shots.

So, the broadhead really didn't fail, right? It just came apart.
If you knicked a blade on a Muzzy, would you consider that a failure?

I'm like Forrest. Broadheads are a consumable.
                  I don't think I've ever re-used a broadhead

I think the biggest problem is having to replace broken and bent blades, when they cost so much to begin with. I may be alone on this, but $39 is just too much to pay for 3 broadheads that you have to replace parts on

$39 is nothing compared to how much you pay for equipment, gas, leases, corn, feeders, food, processing. And the broadhead is the actual piece of equipment that kills the deer. I don't get it.

It's like paying $56,000 for a new King Ranch F350 and then getting an AM radio because you would never pay $500 for a good radio.

OR price shopping for the cheapest taxidermist after you've spent THOUSANDS of $$$$ on hunting that dang deer!

                          Some things I'll never understand.
