    He's a young deer, 2.5-3.5, and here's why.

The nose to forehead profile is still dished.
    Straight back.
    Lack of a potbelly.
Shoulders are small compared to hams.
Horns have that shiny creme color.

It's the puffed winter coat that is adding years to his look.

Please explain what antler color has to do with age?

Smart ,I don’t know how bad the drought was this year where you hunt but I can tell you down south even with protein feeders we are seeing poor quality deer this year. That deer doesn’t look to be over 3.5 no way he is 5.5 your call but I would pass until next year. As many picks of him at your feeder he looks like a feeder hound hell be back next year at a feeder if no better shoot him early. Just my opinion I have seen deer like that explode to awesome deer at 4.5 and 5.5 big 8’s 10’s who knows!

Second largest rainfall amount in years but it didn't start til mid April after 6 months of no rain .....so they had a poor start...but a helluva finish...

As a whole though antlers seem to be down with a few deer being the exception...

I say 4.5 but as others have said, at that age he should be a solid 8 if nothing else. Therefore he is a cull. What's up with the crease in his left front shoulder? Old war wound?
