    Blind heaters

Been hunting a long time and never really had problems
with it being cold until this year. Got a little coleman heater
this mornin and man it makes it nice. Too expensive but
i think it will be worth it. Nice and toasty in this pop up.
Now if i could get a legal deer to come up and eat this corn
    id be set.

If you ever get another on ,look at the Mr.Buddee ones...I had Coleman and after a couple of seasons ,the padding on the top deterioated and the gas wouldn't pass thru it like before...heater cost $80,but a new head was almost $50....bought a Mr Buddee for 87 and man does it heat up...

I have both but prefer my Coleman...seems like the Coleman doesn't use as much propane as the Mr. Heater (Buddy Heater). Both work well.

Mr. Buddy works well but the glow of the flame lights up the inside of my pop up in low light conditions. Coleman makes a flameless heater called the Blackcat that does not put out any extra light inside the blind. Granted it's only 3000 btu's it still knocks the chill out of the blind.

Agreed....my Mr. Buddy made the sit in my blind Sun am when the temp on the blind thermometer read 14 and outside was 18-19, very comfortable.....the blind went to 60 ish quick.....the 12 or so deer were strangely hangin' outside the windows as well..

Now I just need to catch another sale and buy one to replace the old radiant Coleman I have in my other blind. That one has a big red ball that lights up my blind and sounds like a small jet....

Didn't the Mr. Buddy come out with a smaller version similar to the Coleman? So are saying Samrt that the heater did not have an effect on the deer?

Only the ones that got to close to the burner...lol....

Seriously....I watched 12 deer, including an mf 8 with matching G2 kickers on my watch list next season, at 10-30 yards for almost 2 hours with no signs of concern. Other lease members have been doing it a lot longer than I have and had similar results.

Nothing special about my setup either....wind was out of the north....which is across the face of my blind here....but I don't think the wind matters in these blinds..

If you want a cheap version to just nock the chill out, you can take a one pound coffee can(has to be metal). take a roll of toilet paper and pull the cardboard center out. Now place the roll of paper in the can and pour a small bottle of rubbing alcohol in the can. You can then light it and it will put out a little bit of heat. Doesn't work as well as my Mr. Heater but it is effective for a little chill busting. You can tape the lid on it and place it in your pack to carry around with you in case you are moving around to different stand locations. Lot easier to carry.
