    Leaf river game cam??????

I got one for Christmas from the Inlaws. Very nice gift, i thought. It is the 4.0 MP with flash.

I read some reviws on Chasingame.com and now thinking about exchanging it.

    What are yall's thoughts?

They say the bateries only last one month. And it takes a CF card not an SD.

If you don't want it, I'll take it! I've had one for about 5 years. I think mine is only 2MP, but it is a great camera. I've had it out since September, and haven't changed the batteries yet. The last two trips to the lease, it had 455 and 465 pictures on it. I'd love to get another one, but can't really justify it. The CF card is a pain, but I have a USB multi-card reader, so it doesn't hurt too much.

Don't know what to tell you.

I have had a leafriver for 4 years and it is the best camera I have ever had. Goes through 3 sets of batteries a year and never misses a beat.

Based on that I got an IR Leafriver and have never been pleased.

Then the other day I see them on clearance at Academy for $69 which made me afraid they have gone down the cheap mass production road???

there is no way they had one on sale for $69, must have been a mistake!

Ok i will try it out. After reading a few reviews and watching the DVD instructions I got a little nervous. but the review was written by one person and you know how that goes.

I have one that 5-6 years old. It is still going strong. Battery life is good can get couple thousand pixs on batteries. I would keep it if I where you.

Can you post a picture of the camera? It sounds like one of the old models. Their new models all take SD cards instead of CF cards.

I recently got one of the leaf river camera from academy saw it was on sale for 169 and I have only seen them for over 300 so I had to get one. I did not relize till I got home that it runs on cf card instead of sd card. I also found out after doing some research that the camera they are selling at Academy is discontinued everthing that I found showed that everything with the camera is the same as the new ones except they all run on SD card now. Also the cf cards are very hard to find they did not have them at the local Walmart bestbuy or radio shack I order mine from overstock. I read somewhere that this is the reason the camera was discontinued because the cf cards are almost impossible to find. I have had the camera for 4 weeks now and I rally like it except for the CF card deal was frustrating at first.

Mine died after 5 years, it lost the battle with our bull. 1200 acres and I put it over 800 yards from the nearest feeder and he finds it. Looks like he thought was a neck scratcher. I'll buy another.

My parents bought one for home security reasons and it takes excellent pictures, though it is fairly complicated to set up. I love my Cuddebacks, so I don't think I'll be buying one any time soon, but it seems like a quality cam to me.

I have the IR Leafriver and I hate the camera. I will say it gets great battery life but thats all I can say good about it. I sent the camera back three times to Leafriver and I still dont like it. The only thing we use the camera for anymore is to monitor gate traffic at out gate other then that its no good to me. I am unsure of the one you have and I hope the other models are a lot better then mine. The camera I have gone to that replaced my Leafriver for a trail camera is a Spypoint. Its a lot easier to program then the Leafriver and it takes a SD card. The Spypoint like the Leafriver has great battery life. I get somewhere around 6000 plus photos on my Spypoint per set of batteries.

They have them on clearance for $109 at Academy. One of the guys on our lease has leaf river cameras and they work great. I thought about picking one up myself.
