Took my 9 year old daughter Alivia for the youth hunt weekend. We got to my dads place in north of Nacogdoches early friday evening. After a dinner of hamburgers and chips (Alivias request) we settled in for bed in the back seat of my truck.
We saw a few deer Sat. morning, but did not get a shot off. After a quick trip into Nac. we headed back out for the eveing hunt with high hopes.
At about 5:30 Alivia prepared to take a shot at a group of doe feeding about 100 yards down wind.
After picking out the largest doe of the bunch, she aimed, squeezed the trigger, and fired.
After waiting a few minutes, we were off to see if we had a good hit or not.
BINGO>>>We have blood!
After a short blood trail, Alivia has her first deer! A perfect heart shot!
