    Minor lease problem.

I have permisson to cross a piece of property that is leased for hunting to get to my lease. Sat morning I went on to the property and the people that are on the lease had their camp set up right by the lease road. I drove by the camp and parked about 50 yds. from their pickups and walked the 100 yds to my stand. The land owner said they complained about me doing that. Now here's the kicker. This is the same bunch that set up a pop up on their side facing one of our lease members feeders and hunted turkeys off of it. Just let it go or complain?

Well I would have fixed that pop up for them. A lil lighter fluid and a match and dang that lightning is bad

Discuss it with them. Dont' be an *****hole, just voice your concerns without being antagonistic and try to reach a solution. Your stand is 150 yards from their camp??

as posted above, discuss first. If that does not work, then complain.

Just go up and share beverage with them. They probably didn't know you had permission. I would say something to my land owner if I saw someone crossing our lease.

I don't see where you did anything wrong. You had permission to be there.Go talk to them.Probably nothing but a misunderstanding.

Well, more like 200 yards. I'm about 100 yds from property line and I'm not hunting the fence. My stand was there long before their camp was there but they don't know that. I guess they can camp where they want.

Well, if you parked on the property that you are leasing and was 50yrds from their camp...and your stand was 100yrds from there...and they have a popup on a fenceline that hunts one of yalls feeder...I assume the feeder is fairly close to the fenceline? Are both of these properties really small? Jammed with hunters? Or does everyone like being "close" to the fences? Not being sarcastic, just wondering out loud...

As others have said, stop by their camp, maybe with the landowner and talk it over.

I parked on the neighbor that I have permission to cross. They other members feeder is probably 60 yds from fence that had the pop up on it. Both properties around 200 acres. I had never seen a camp in three years of crossing the property. Am I too close to the fence? Mine faces away from the property line and I only bow hunt. Again, I don't feel I'm hunting the fence. Am I?

no, you are 100yrds off. That is more than enough. I guess the only concern is being too close to their camping spot. I know this wasn't your doing but some people just don't like being that close to where others are making so much noise and of course the scent. I use to have a stand that was maybe 70 yards from our camp for the wife to hunt out of. There was still quite a bit of activity there but I can see where being that close to camp could have an effect on movement. About 6 years ago there was a group that moved their camp near one of my setups(about 300 yrds). Was sitting there one evening and a couple of them didn't hunt during prime time but instead decided to target practice at there camp. I was not happy. It did sure have an effect on movement then.

oh, sorry, as to your main point, I agree, go talk with them. Amazing how much you can clear things up over a beverage.

Is it the stand location they don't like or you parking on their side of the fence?

You cant see the stand from their camp or even the property line for that matter. I think they didn't like me driving by their camp. I really just think I scared them that early in the morning.
