How do you find a good lease?

I have been hunting the same lease in Willow City for as long as I can remember. This year, I decided to get on a new lease because my youngest son's health and older son's driving impatience required me to be closer to home...I struck out bad! The lease I am currently on is terrible. After at least 65 hours in the field, I have yet to see a deer in person. We have tons of deer in our food plots and at our feeders between 10:00 pm and 2:00 am...never during the daylight hours. However, I have seen/shot bobcats, coyotes, wild dogs, and mountain lions.

I am now looking for another lease for next year. How/where do you find a good one?

deertexas.com is a site a guy told me about the other day. you have to pay to join though. I looked through what was already posted and have found three properties I want to look at. You can sort by area, type game wanted, day lease, season or year long.

No way to know if the property is a gem or a **** though.

        I'll check it out. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I convinced five of my friends to join my crappy lease...they ain't too happy with me right now. I hope deertexas.com helps me find us a lease that will help me redeem myself!

Mountain lion might be why you're not seeing many deer. Big cats make the deer very nervous.

I'd say this year isn't really a good year to judge how nice a lease is gonna be. I went from seeing 10+ deer every sitting last year to seeing 1 every couple sittings this year. Just a bad year.
