I used to have natural camo on my chin (brown hairs), but that is now bright silver. However, as long as I'm quiet, I can do gymnastics inside the blind with deer at 10 yards.

The beginning of this video shows a view of the blind from both inside and out.

Great video! How do you get that much brush above your blind? The roof on my DB collapses if I put more than a couple branches on there.

Tip. You don't need to go buy extra black hunting stuff, just buy a few black oversized long sleve t-shirts to pull over whatever camo you are wearing. THat way you can just pull it off and be in stalk mode on the way back to camp. I actually leave my t-shirt in the blind after each hunt.

Deer seem to walk/feed parallel to a chum line.

Make sure you brush in everything SUPER well and make sure you break up the shape of both te popup and the window. I have found that game are less spooked by the "blackhole" effect when it's a "natural" or random shape. Not a square or triangle. Besides that, keeping as many windows completely closed seems to help scent ad shadowing you. I wear dark camo or black and I paint my face dark as well. I shoot with no peep so I need my face clear of material for my anchor points though. Camo netting over you roof helps a lot in breaking up the hard lines of the pop up too. Hope this helps.

            Just my personal prefferences

Leaving the T-shirt may be a great idea. What little scent you leave on it, the deer will get used to.
              Oh well, just a thought

The Double Bull Matrix 360 was designed to be a quick setup system with a camo pattern that didn't need anything else to be effective.
When I first got mine I set up in a pecan bottom next to a big pecan tree and nothing else and had deer and turkey all over me that evening without any of them paying any attention to it. The place looked like a city park and I thought surely I wouldn't see squat. Wrong!

Last year I had 6 bucks in front of me with Angie videoing from a tower blind 150yds away. The DB was backed up under a mesquite with no other add-ons and the young 10 pt walked around behind me a bedded down 5 yds away(also on video) while two young 8's did their pushing and shoving 10 yds in front. Angie kept wondering why I didn't shoot one of them.
Well, they were young and dumb and off limits.

Same thing this year. Me and my huntin buddy sat a DB last Sat. morning and had 5 bucks in at one time all within 10 yds.
We had the mesh up and one little 6 saw my buddy raise his binos and caught the movement. The little buck tried for 30 mins to figure out what was in there and we had a propane heater going cause it was 15 deg out there.

I use the DB Matrix because I can move them around quickly without much hassle and hunt different spots the same day as I set em up and game just don't seem bothered.

When I am hunting a on a day lease I brush up my blind completely and leave a hole just big enough for my arrow to clear. I cut a hole in my mesh about 8'' high by 4'' wide. I dont like shooting through the screen it seems to deflect my shots about 2'' higher than shooting with out them. On my lease I have permanent cattle panel blinds lined with carpet about 15-20 yards from my feeders but still brush them in good. Have two set ups for different wind direction. These work best cause the deer get used to them and dont even look in the window anymore.

Thanks for all the excellent info guys. One more day and a wake up before I'm back out in the woods!

The key to setting up a ground blind is finding a brush or a bush where you want the blind then crawling in and cutting a hole out in the center of the brush to pop the blind up in.

Mesh up mesh down is a personal choice. I personally will use the mesh every chance I can. I have never had a mature deer spook from the mesh but I have had a few spook from the black hole.

I killed a great buck a few years ago on the 4th day of a public draw hunt. The first day I had the mesh down and had a mature buck come in. Nice mid 30's 8 point. There were several other deer there so he came in calm. After a couple minute he looked up and saw the black hole and almost did a back flip getting out of there.

I put the mesh back up and a couple days later another mature buck came in and was calm he looked at the blind (mesh) and didn't even flinch. That sold me on the mesh.

I wear my sentlock insideout since it is lined black and shoot through the srceens too using fixed blades, the screen when it was new was hard to see through at sun rise but now the sun has faded it so I can see better but so can the deer. so I only use one window and keep the rest closed.

My cousin is the only one out of 4 of us that has problems shooting through his screen but he is also the only one using real feathers for fletching we think that is the problem.

I have havested deer and hogs from 10ft out to 40yrds shooting through the screens.

I have also took my floor to the dirt piling it up on the insides this helped rain not come in. When I get in the popup I dig up the dirt to get the dirt smell fresh and hang dirt sent leaves from the poles above to help if the wind blows in and keep a spare bottle of sent killer in there too to respray myself if it is hot and I start to sweat or if I sweat from the long walk to my spot.
I am sent up in some trees by apond it works great.

I aslo leave full unopened bottled waters and empty ones for emergency pee breaks
