Remember my Christmas light insanity thread?

Last night, my bride decided that she would hang the lights on the bottom story. She got the lights out, got the ladder set up, and got a pocket full of the dinky "multi-purpose" clips. The clips didn't fare so well and she called me out of the garage, away from my project at hand, to help her figure them out.

Somehow, the same clips we used last year, don't seem to work as well this year. I hung the lights last year and I couldn't figure out how I got the stupid clips to work on the gutters. Along the shingle areas, they're fine, but the gutters not so well.

After a little digging online, I found these things they call gutter hooks. The look like an S where the tails come back and touch the middle.

Does anyone know if Walmart, Homo Depot, bLowes or any store like that carries these things?

BTW, her pouty attitude guilted me into hanging the lights for her.
Luckily, I've drafted the rock yarded Serbian neighbor to help!

Home Depot has a pretty good deal on a clip and extension pole. I used it on my house and was done in about an hour.

....and today she is telling her friends......

"Ha! Ha! All I had to do was drag everything out and then act all confused. I told him I needed a big strong and smart man to figure it out for me. Then I went in and did my nails...."

Well, whichever version it was, it apparently worked. They know how to play us.

If I just made some out of galvanized wire, what are the chances of it rubbing through the insulation on the wires before new years?

Sounds like you are looking to burn the house down.

When my wife and I first moved into our house I put up cup holdes (screw in cup holders) and clear silicone been holding our lights every year this when Christmas is over just take the lights down and the holders stay there out of sight.
