I shot a buck down in Langtry on Sunday. I really think by how big his body was that he was at least 4.5 probably 5.5. I think the teeth say 4.5, but just would like to get yall opinion. Thanks
Too many variables, there is no way you can age a deer by tooth wear. Tuthdoc used to say the best you could do was kill a deer of known age keep that jaw then compare that jaw to the deer in that same geographic area, and even then no guarantees. For a small amount you can send a tooth to deerage.com and they will get you as close as humanly possible to the deers age.
Agree with Sotex & Doc. Too much variation in dier and grit picked up from eating corn to compare teeth from 1 area to the next. You have to learne what 5 year old teeth look like on your place.
