need advice on a bow for my son

I am wanting to buy a bow for my son to hunt with next season.....just wanting a little advise on a few things.......like what poundage should he be able to shoot at to take a deer.....and would like a bow that he could shoot for a few years so would like something that is pretty adjustable to grow with him....any help would be greatly appreciated.

bullsprig, I do not know how old your son is but my youngest is going to be 8 and I ended up getting him a Diamond Nuclear Ice for Christmas as it seems very adjustable in draw length and has a 10-30 lb draw.

      +2 on the Nuclear Ice.

I bought one for my 5 year old to start shooting. He is still just learning how the fundamentals but I expect him to continue to grow into the bow for years to come.

+3 on the Nuc Ice. My 5 year old girl is getting one for Christmas.

Depends on age I think. If my girl was 7, she would not be getting this bow. Good intro bow being 23" AtA and weighing only 2.3 lbs.

look at the razor edge by diamond (bowtech). The bow can grow with him.

            Ignition

Bought my 10 year old a Mathews Ignition and it is perfect for kids. Has a huge range of adjustability on draw weight. Very light and short. He has already shot a few pigs and a spike this year with it. I have been more than pleased, as has he.

dont forget about the mission menace, 17-30" draw and the weight goes up as the draw length is increased. Also the new bowtech soldier is a nice bow as well.

I got a mission menace for my son this summer. It is draw will adjust from 17-30" and will go from 18-50lbs. So he should be able to use it for the next 4-5yrs
