I know some just won't care about this but I thought it was special. With all the Christmas threads going around, I thought I would share something that happened in my parents house just last night with my 2 yr old daughter. We were all talking about when to do Christmas with my folks and stuff and Lilli was running around saying something and really wanting some attention, we werent really listening to her so she got louder. What she was yelling at this point took everybody back a little. She was saying that "Jesus' Birthday is coming" "Merry Jesus' Birthday". I love it, she sooooo gets it.(Just a little proud). Carry on.

I wish more families got that.... my wife's and my family both consider the holidays to be special, but fail to see it in the light of it being the celebration of when the Christ was born. If it were up to my wife and I, we'd give present away at Thanksgiving, and not at Christmas.... but too many family members would see that as cheap! LOL

AMEN Brothers! I love it when children wake us up to the fact that we are looking at things all wrong. Jesus IS the reason for the season, and it really gets me going when people say "Happy Holidays" after Thanksgiving. There's only one holiday after Turkeyday, it's CHRISTmas! I have gotten some funny looks at Walmart when the cashier says "Happy Holidays" and I respond with "Merry CHRISTMAS". I swear the big chain stores make policies against the word Christmas like it's going to offend someone.
Okay, rant off, great story man, and good job, you're doing it right.

Way to go!
I wanted to post somewhere, I'll add it here.
Start a great family tradition this year. Everybody has lots of boxes with Christmas decorations in them. Inside one of the flaps, after Christmas write down the year and what everybody's favorite present was from Santa. My kids started doing this before they could spell, so they drew pictures and I wrote underneath what it was. I'd also write a little comment sometimes about what was going on in our lives. Do another flap or box every year.
After the kids start growing up, it's GREAT when you open the boxes to decorate the house to find those written on the insides of the flaps, and remember all the great Christmas-pasts you've had with the family.
I hope somebody else wants to do it, too.
