    I need professional HELP!!

I know this is TBH but you guys give great feedback. I have an old Winchester model 70. 30-06 that I want to get the stock changed out on. Is this something that a guy with no knowledge of how to change them out can do correctly? I've never changed one before. Also do you know what a gunsmith would charge to install the replacement?

    Thanks

It is a very simple job as long as the replacement is a good one that fits properly. I wouldn't hesitate doing it myself.

The action will be screwed to the stock. There is no glue holding it in place, on your new stock you might want to "bed" the action and "free float" the barrel to increase accuracy (SP).

There are kits through Brownells that can walk you through tricking it out or you can hava a smith do it.

          Good shootin!!!!

First just how old is the gun. If it is pre 64 you might want to reconsider. Other wise it is not big deal, you can do it your self if you have a Dremel tool.

The gun is not pre 64. I'm not sure how old it is but not that old... My dad bought 3 30-06's for me and my two brothers when I was about 12. This one was used when he bought it.

I was just looking at stockys
