    sighting in in SA

Whats the best range to sight in the ol rifle? I know of a 'place to shoot' but wanted everyones opinion. I normally just go to Bandera Gun Club, because its where Im from, so im looking for something different in sa

A Place to Shoot is probably the best place in town but since it is far from me I frequent Cedar Ridge (off 1863 east of 281) and Bracken Range but neither are as good as A Place to Shoot. I have heard good things about Bexar Community Shooting Range in St Hedwig but haven't been myself.

That is what I was thinking! My BIL works right near there and has taken my guns to shoot but I want to make sure they are dead on with me shooting as I am bigger and can handle the kick of the 7 unlike him

Bracken shooting range is where I like to go. Not a big fan of A Place to shoot. Their place is old and the spotting scopes are pieces of junk. Bracken is open in the evenings until 8'oclock if I'm not mistaken.

I sure like the benches and rests at A Place To Shoot, but as someone else mentioned the spotting scopes are total junk. I've been going there for at least 20 years and they haven't changed them in all that time...

APTS has really nice custom rests, especially for shooting in magnums. The design absorbs about 90% of the recoil while still shooting from a "natural" posture. It's really nice for "fine tuning" a big rifle without killing your shoulder.

As for using binos, that's great for shooting in larger calibers but I do most of my shooting with .22cal and smaller and it can get tough marking hits downrange with bino/scope especially with the .17 cal.

Yeah That is what I have heard! I just need to zero the 7mm in with out killing myself! I have gotten it pretty close at the ranch but between the taking breaks every 3 shots to let the barrell cool a little, and the weather, it became an all day affair!

Thank you though! Im going to have to go out there sometime this week! I think im going to do a bass pro/ place to shoot kind of day! get the best of both worlds!

If you are in the New Braunfels area go to Dietz. It is on 46 about 7 miles from NB. Best benches around, and they charge per visit not per gun like Bracken.
