    Talk Me Off the Ledge.....

I am (was) shooting Muzzy 4 blades but could never seem to get a good flight path even after paper tuning at GM. I started thinking that the large cutting blades up front were causing my arrow to plane and just not hit where I was aiming

After much soul searching, I made the switch today to....

After the 3rd or 4th time you pull one out of your quiver and you have to reseat the blades, you'll rethink.
Other than that, and the occasional bone hit failure or breakage, they're great.

Welcome to the club. Had the same problems with my arrow flight with muzzy.
I can hit where I want with Rage and do alot more damage.

I listened to guys on here talk about how good Rages were for a long time before I decided to take the plunge. It is very dissapointing to have to keep reseating the blades and doesn't inspire much confidence that they will stay that way in flight. I regret buying them and will go back to Tekans.

Why go COMPLETELY overboard? Why not just go to a fixed blade that is spin tested before it leaves the factory.....mmmm, say like a Magnus Stinger. That would probably solve some of your problems.

Unfortunately, there are some bows combined with some shooters that cannot get their BH and FP together regardless of arrow spine or BH choice(fixed), so a mechanical is best for this situation.
                              Shot placement trumps everything else.
I ran into this situation for the first time in my bowhunting career this year, so I commited to a mechanical head because the bow shot so well that I wanted to hunt with it.
The deer never knew it was a mechanical head.
I could have resighted to the fixed head,(about 3 inches at 40 yds), but I didn't want to have to consider the difference when practicing.
I prefer strong fixed heads due to reliability, but as I stated earlier, shot placement trumps all other issues.
