We have a small piece of property that is surrounded by thousands of acres of unhunted and uninhabited land. It's a natural funnel for deer due to the lake. We do not see tons of deer, but it's always steady. We have pretty reliable deer that you can count on seeing at least once in a weekend, but this weekend not a deer around. Only one spike on the camera in the last 3 days. Dec.3rd, 5 bucks and 3 does on the camera, then nothing. I'm trying to get my daughter a deer, and they are not working with me. I think they know we brought a rifle on to the property. Anybody else experiencing this dilemma? I thought it would be great hunting this weekend.

Hunted yesterday on our 600 acre lease in Jack county.. 3 hunts, 3 people and a total of 24 deer seen. No big bucks, 4 small ones and the rest does. we havent been seeing any number of does at all. We have been hit and miss on bucks too. The full moon was out I didnt use a light to get in the stand yesterday morning but they moved pretty much all day from what I saw.. I think the green is drying up and the acorns are gone... Deer are forced to move now when they were not before. I think the rut is winding down too..Looks like the drought may be over if the weather stays cold.. we will see
