3.5 the dentin is wider than the enamel on the 4th tooth but is narrower than the enamel on the 5th tooth. Also the lingual crest on the 4th and 5th tooth are still sharp. age the right jawbone. a deer uses their right side to chew more often than their left
The teeth WILL lie show us a picture of the deer. if you REALLY what to know 100% pull a front tooth and send it to the lab in Burnet. From the teeth i say 3.5
Teeth will lie from time to time. Even sending them off is not 100%, probably 80% at best. Looks 3.5 to me from those pics. Got any pics of the deer? We have killed known aged bucks that we knew were at least 6.5, and their teeth showed 3.5.

That is a fact!! A deer that is protein and corn fed and lives in an environment that doesn't have lots of sand in the soil will show less tooth wear. A free range deer that forages for everything he eats or a deer that hangs out at feed pens eating off the ground in very sandy conditions will show more tooth wear than body age. I have seen it many times with know age deer that I have taken. Just my observations.
It also depends on what they eat. If a deer eats protien all his life his teeth are not going to show as much ware, as if a deer eats corn off the ground. I think this deer is 3.5.
