then you would qualify for the tax credit. Folks like me that don't hardly pay anything in to them are the ones that it does not help out.

      From my tax guy:

"Taxpayers who buy a new car or several other types of motor vehicles this year may be entitled to a special tax deduction when they file their 2009 federal tax returns next year. The tax break is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The amount of the deduction is phased out for taxpayers whose modified adjusted gross income is between $125,000 and $135,000 for individual filers and between $250,000 and $260,000 for joint filers."

You should really contact your personal tax consultant if they are the one's that file your return. Like stated before the credit is agains your tax liability (this has nothing to do with whether you get a refund at the end of the year). Most everyone pay's taxes some people pay them quarterly some annually some don't pay them at all. Take a look at previous tax documents and see what you witheld from your paycheck and see if this works for you.

I had a guy from DE call me last night just to make sure everything was all right and to confirm the order...For what it's worth, the carts are manufactured in South Korea and assembled in Long Beach California by Zune Electric. They are mailing me my titles (they have already assigned serial numbers to the sale) and sales documents today so all the paperwork is in order for '09 taxes.

They are expecting the carts/deal to be featured or at least shown/discussed on CNN next Wednesday (Anderson Cooper) and John Stossel at Fox also has a demo and is supposed to be doing a segment about the deal on the carts next week. This really seems like a straight up deal. They really expect sales to blow up after the TV coverage.

After talking to him for probably ten minutes and getting all my questions answered to my satisfaction I finally said...

"So, you guys are really on the level, huh?"

He assured me again they were...

I said..."good...because if you guys f*** me I will hunt you down like a mad dog"

He laughed and said that he went to college at Baylor and his room mate was from San Antonio (he actually named the high school without any prompting) and he knew how we Texans were...he wasn't about to screw me...:lol

What I found strange is that I talked to a sales lady last night. You would think with the way those things are selling, they would have a little info from clients that already purchased and had the same questions as we all have. I told her that we get a refund, and a large one. Will this impact that. She said she does not know. I told her we pay more than the stated amount of taxes, and she said she did not have an answer. I understand they do not want to be on the hook for saying the wrong thing, but to totally avoid the discussion and act like this is the first time anyone as asked them about it was strange.
I am still interested, but need to explore more.

I would worry a lot less about him screwing you than the government. I think there are going to be a loy of surprised folks like there were with cash for clunkers program.

Whatever you give them for a delivery address. Mine will be delivered to my office. It didn't really concern me because I have forklifts, etc. in case they come in a crate.

I don't see that as strange at all. They clearly state that you should consult with a tax professional to determine how the purchase would affect your individual case. If you read all the IRS rulings I have posted they are pretty clear that there shouldn't be any surprises. The only thing that might be added later would be a clawback provision if you sold the carts within a specified time period (three years was mentioned)

I personally find the risk/reward acceptable. Anyone priced new 48V golf carts lately? ESPECIALLY six passenger carts...

                      I looked at this also..

I think they extended the credit for vehicles purchased after 12/31/2009

Information I have received is that the "Stealth" 4 WD carts qualify for this program now.
