Welded Wire Fence vs Hog Panel

Question for the group. I'm looking at making feeder pen of sorts to keep most of the hogs out from under my feeder. I plan on putting the feeder close to the fence so that some corn will make it out and keep the hogs coming in. I can get a 100' roll of 36" welded wire fence for about $50 at Tractor Supply. Will this work if I have plenty of trees and t-posts to anchor it? The 16' hog panels are pretty expensive (to me) and I'm wanting to put up about a 100' diameter pen. Opinions appreciated.

    tks,

The hogs will put a hole right thru the welded wire. For a feed pen I only recommend panels. I grew up on a hog farm with approx. 200 head of hogs we have used it all trying to keep a hog in a pen. The wire that is twisted kinda like the high fences will work, but I still would use panel. Plus it's easier to handle.

Hoggerjls is right. My experience with hogs is the stronger the wire the better. I use only cattle panels or hog panels. Cattle panels cut in half are 25". I have had hogs climb the ones cut 25". Not often but they will get in if they are big enough.
