Timing might be right. A buddy of mine had a show nuff monster money buck walk by him last evening. He has hunted Eastern Kansas for the last 25 years and this was the biggest buck he has seen. He had two other shooters bird dogging by before the big boy showed up.
Good luck and remember.................... you cant shoot a big-un if you shoot a little-un!

          It's southwest of Wichita.

Weather man called for high winds last night and this morning, but per usual, he was wrong. Had some wind this morning but nothing like what they were calling for (30 to 40 mph). This afternoon should be good.

Went to check the game camera this morning, and had 9 does bedded pretty close to where I'm putting up. The camera had a button buck on it and there was a freshened scrape right there too.

Well, this evening was interesting to say the least. I went out to get up in my climber and realized the tree I picked out was too small. I found a spot closer to the DeerCane and set up on the ground. I was sitting there waiting and up came a buck with a busted off right antler. He had a younger buck that was bigger with him. He was not what he should have been, so I decided to shoot. I shot, but it went low, just piercing his brisket. He didn't have a clue as to what happened, and came back. This time I aimed a little higher, cut loose and hit him towards the back of the ribs. He meandered off and I watched him go up and over the hill. I waited for dark and trailed him a ways. Wasn't real happy with the blood trail, so I backed out and will head back out in the morning. The arrow looked and smelled like it should. We'll know how good it really was in the morning.
