    Shooting down hill...

Hey guys I am a flat lander AKA from south texas. Tomorrow morning I am hunting at my buddies place and the tripod is maybe 25' higher than the feeder. How/where do I need to aim? The feeder is 20 yards away and I have a 20 yard pin??? I have never once taken a shot elevated this high.

I would take a practice shot with a field point at a very small target to see how many inches off you are. With my bow setup, I would be so close to dead on I wouldn't worry, but I always aim a little low on deer because most of the time they drop about 4" before the arrow arrives.

I'm going for an Axis doe, so I guess I can pick a dot to aim at! That is going to be helpful. First Axis hunt.

I have a tripod that is 12' to the seat height. I have a feeder that is 25 yards to the feeder. I shoot a Mathews Switchback that shoots at 273' FPS.

For the 25 yard shot, I use my 20 yard pin. I know this to be a fact. I measured the yardage with my range finder and made the shot with zero wind just last week. I used my my 3D target leaned up against the back feeder leg.

If at all possible, take your target out the stand and make the shot with your broadhead.

I can't help ya much, other than to say, there is an angle to the dangle to be considered.
I have missed deer shooting from an elevated blind, that I think I could have hit'em with a rock.

I added 5ft to my tripod, the seat is now about 17ft high. Saturday evening I shot a doe at 18.5 yards. I hit exactly where I was aiming using the 20 yard pin without compensating. I shoot a hoyt xt2000 set @ 72 lbs. shoots at 279fps. I do think that fps and arrow-broadhead weight play a role. Hope this helps.

So basically what you guys are saying, is use the 20 pin and stick em.... I was a bit worried. I didn't want to spine one, I was thinking it would shoot high. Thanks
