Has anyone had any dealing with Texas Lending? I am currently refinancing my house with them (haven't closed yet, supposed to at 6:30 today) but I not getting a warm fuzzy feeling with them. They started off by requiring a $99 commitment fee to show we are serious, ok. Well I just found out last night that the mortgage is not one with an escrow so we have to pay our own insurance and taxes. Not a big deal just wasn't told that and had to drag it out of them.

Just looking for anyone else that has had any dealing with them and your opinion.

    Thanks in advance.

Beware of any mortgage company that has a name ending in .com. I am in the business and have seen too many of those deals come back. Good luck.

I got my mortgage through them! Not to worry! They are legit! They are one of the, if not the largest mortgage broker in Texas. If you go through them, call Andy Tuttle. His assistant is Peter Edmonds. Andy's direct line is 214-550-5174 E-mail: atuttle@texaslending.com

We encountered some issues at closing to no fault of the lender and they did a GREAT job of putting things together and making it happen. I would absolutely deal with them again!

Most mortgages get sold. Frees up capital for them to make more deals. Mortgage companies make most of their money on fees and points and not from interest payments.

Thanks for the kind words all. Much appreciated.

TX Hombre, that would be a "surprise at closing". Something we pride ourselves in not having...

Escrowing taxes/insurance is a pretty significant detail that was not made clear to you at the beginning of the process.

Ditto. The others probably aren't bowhunters, much less sponsors here. Call Brady.
