    Slick Trick Problems...anyone???

Had two different hunters lose deer shot with a Slick Trick this year. Any one else had a "lacking" blood trail using Slick Tricks?
This last deer left a blood trail for approx 50 yards, arrow fell out (so there was an exit wound), and blood disappeared. We were on hands and knees looking for blood.

    Any experiences like this?

I shoot the 85gr ST and have had some blood trails a blind man could follow. No problems here. I would chaulk it up to shot placement until you confirm different. ST's are tough heads that work great.

Sorry to hear about the lost deer, but in my opinion, 99% of the deer lost because of a loss of the blood trail can be attributed to poor shot placement or just plain bad luck with the former being the most prevelant. Almost everyone that looses a deer will blame the broadhead, and almost every lost deer was hit with a perfect shot. Like Jason said, ST's are hard to beat.

I have nothing but good luck with slick tricks......they leave trails a blind man could follow and with proper shot placement I have never had a deer go ovr 60 yards. Were they hunting from a pop up? sometimes this can cause the blood to quit flowing since the wound is higher in the chest cavity.......

nope, everything I have gotten a GOOD hit on is dead. More times than not, there was no need for a blood trail.

I had nothing but good luck with ST even on not so favorable shot placement! They rip!

I shot a spike last month at 15 yds, middle of the chest right behind the leg. I am about 12 feet up in a tri pod. Exited through the oppisite shoulder, double lung. Deer turned and trotted down a road about 40 yds, turned into the grass and went down. Tried to get up once and that was it. After I checked the deer I looked for a blood trail and found nothing. A few hairs and flecks at the point of the shot and nothing else. I was very concerned but enough people explained away the "no blood" that I still use them. They fly great and hit hard so I will keep using them for now.

Man every shot is different, angle, height etc! It's hard to tell what happens. enen on a perfect shot I have had no blood trail, but soon as I move the animal blood poors out! I guess they bleed into the cavity instead of out!

This deer was shot with a 100 grain ST Mag. It was a quartering away and destroyed both lungs.

The deer only went about 40 yards but there was only pin head size blood drops until I found him.

I think it had more to do with the exit, than the broadhead. The exit was in the meaty part of the shoulder (due to quartering away) and didn't let any blood out AT ALL.

This was after LDPs but I don't think I even had to clean up the exit side.

                      EXIT WOUND

I had a lacking blood trail from a st magnum but it was because I hit a bit high and she bled all inside and not out... my fault not the broadheads....

I love my ST's! Only killed one deer with one and I spined her, blood trail was not needed. I have a buddy who shot an Elk last year with a ST and he said "it destroyed him".

Never really had any problems with them. Only thing i suggest is to aim low. From my experience if you aim low youll hit heart. If they duc then youll hit lung. Lower the shot more blood will usually spill.

I shot a big hog, not where i wanted to, he ran less than 50 yards and the trail looked like scene out of the SHINING - Redrum.
