cattle and deer on food plots

I was thinking about running some calves on 15 acres of a wheat/oats mixture next year. If I was to plant it would this benefit the deer. The 8 calves would be there all the time for a couple of months. I have seen deer around cows alll the time. Would it be beneficial?
