    A Good Year-Round Lease

I am not totally giving up on public land, but after hunting it for a month, I can see the drawbacks:

    No baiting allowed
    Have to wear certain colors/camo
High hunting pressure (varies from location to location)
No food plots (same as baiting?)

I'm thinking that a lease or land to own might be a better idea. I know this sounds like a reach, but could I get something for $1500/year near Ft. Worth?

Where do I start? Am I off base- are these things still an issue on private land?

You should have no problem getting a nice lease within an hour to an hour and a half from Fort Worth in that price range. Check with Trailboss with BAO and see if they have any season spots still available. Check with Deertexas and look for places in Jack, Young, etc. counties. You should have no problem and could very likely get something much cheaper.

    Good luck!
If I didn't think my opinion was right, then it wouldn't be my opinion. So, any other opinion must be wrong, therefore stupid.

1500 is more than enough for a lease. I hunt both, and must say your own lease is the way to go.

It is really hard to find a lease on your own. I'd take the advice and try BAO or DeerTexas. Those folks can probably put you onto something that will work.

I was in Newcastle today (sunday). There was an add on the wall "2 spots left a lot of deer Archer County. This was at "Hole In The Wall" a good little eatin' joint. $ 1200 a spot.
