    moultrie game cameras

    fyi

for anybody looking to buy a moultie camera anytime soon.

i sent a camera back for repair and spoke to customer service rep today. i mentioned that i did not like the design of the solar panel connection on the cameras. she advised that moultrie will be coming out with a camera in june with a new solar panel connection design.

so it might be wise to wait till june to see what the new design looks like or possibly catch the old design on sale.

Cool. I have got 2 of the Moultree 200's and i love the camera but im like you, the solar panel connection is crap. What i did was instead of hooking the solar panel up there, I opened the camera, ran the alligator clamps to the battery, and then closed the camera. It was kind of hard to close it but once it crimped the wires a little, it was fine and it doesnt cut through the wire at all, which i was worried about. Thats good to know that they are coming out with a new design. Im gonna have to look into it. Thanks for posting.

I took the terminals on my 200 and turned them around so that they are inside the camera. I then drilled a small hole in the bottom of the camera housing and ran my solar panel wiring in there and hooked up.

I have heard also that the trigger time will be drastically reduced on one of the new models this year along with more MP.

boy, I lucked out with my Cam, working great.. Flash is little too bright.. but does catch the Coons & up.

Solar panels, just do not work well, in 90% cloud cover & Rain. if I ran wires in the door would have to seal it up from rain. Just too much rain, till mid augast, when it slows down.. Till then webfeet ..

Will look at the new Models. Plus to see what Chasing Game. rates them, for they are the experts & give real life testing that us Users need.

better start saving my Copper pennies for newer Cam now

Thanks for the fyi, I was thinking about going out to get one, but with this new info I think I will wait till June. Seems like everyone is having the same issue with the solar panel connections, but I have heard alot of good stuff about them besides this. I actually have a couple buddies who have them and they had this issue but rewired it and fixed the issue.
