    Feeder times, shots and retrievals

So say you have the feeder going off at 6:15, 7:15 and 8:15 and you take a shot around 7, do you wait out the other feeder slings or just ignore the slings, wait your 30 and retrieve?

Bored sitting here in the blind.....

Hmmmm, just figured it would keep the deer and hogs happy and showing up consistently. This place is tough to get and keep customers. I guess I should et my feeder repeater working and then only have to sling once

With all those feedings, the animals can come at any time they want to eat. Set it for 1 time in morning and evening and let them come. They will be there at 7am and 5pm everyday. Now after a kill, who cares about the next feeding, Im waiting my 30 minutes and finding my animal.

agree way too much corn, make em earn it.

Trust me they'll come if you throw it once, then suppliment when you hunt with hand thrown corn.

I have my feeder go off twice in the morning just to keep the animals a little longer and maybe draw in a wayward buck. Last week I shot an eight point ten minutes after daylight and watched him go down about 50 yards away in an oat patch. I did wait until the next spin because there were turkey close and thought I might get a shot. When they didn't come in I was down and out. Guess it depends on the situation. Also, to be honest, I can't wait 30 minutes! I usually get down in 5-10 to at least check the arrow and blood. If it looks quesitonable then I back off and wait, otherwise I start a slow trail.

I throw 2 times each feeding, I will throw 4 seconds 2 times, instead of once time at 8 seconds. I think it tends to bring more deer in by the sound of the feeder going off. That way if their is a buck in the distance or at someone elses feeder they know that my feeder is going off again and they can have a chance at more corn. just my 2 cents

You guys with one feeding must not have many deer coming! My hunt would be over in 15 mins if I feed what you are I feed 17 secs at daylight and 6 secs two more time. I have about 10 deer min come everytime my feeder goes off they vaccum up the corn in no time. But to the question if you dont want to shoot another get down and track if you got a tag left keep hunting maybe mac daddy will come in the dead one isnt going anywhere.

Holy cow batman! 17 seconds worth of corn? Just leave a bag on the ground and slice it open. Seriously, how much corn do you go through in a week?

Ok, now what about hunting the same feeder that you shot at in the morning, whether you connected in the morning or not?

I would wait. Anticipation is half the fun.

2 bags a week, during season I cut it back during offseason. But when my feeder goes off it looks like a hornet nest there's a lot of deer circling it. I have sometimes 20 to 25 deer showup. I believe you got to make it worth their while to come. $10 a week is nothing for the corn. And I usally hand throw some too!
